SAT Improvements 2

Since the writing of my previous SAT article, I’ve made some improvements with my practice test scoring. There is roughly one month before I have to take the real October SAT, so I wanted to write an update prior to that day.

September

Since school is back, I haven’t had much time to study for the SAT. The only practice I’ve been doing is the College Board Practice Tests on the weekends. I take one on Saturday and Sunday morning and plan to do so until my test date comes around.

I’m now consistently missing under 10 questions total on the reading/writing section, which is a considerable improvement from me missing around 10 on only the reading section. Missing under 10 questions for the reading/writing section translates to around a low 700's score. As for math, I’ve been scoring 790 on almost every single practice test I’ve taken. I can’t seem to get those last few questions correct to obtain the coveted 800. It may be mental fatigue or some sort of deficiency with my checking. Combining the two, I’m scoring in the low 1500’s range, meaning I’m slowly inching toward my goal of scoring 1550+. So far, my highest score on a practice SAT has been 1530 on Practice Test 1. My score breakdown was -6 Reading, -3 Writing, -0 No Calculator and -1 Calculator. However, there was a test (I can’t remember which one) where I missed -3 Reading, -2 Writing, -1 No Calculator and 0 Calculator. I only earned a 1510 from this test. That’s why I’m hoping for a generous curve for the October SAT.

I’ve made some small improvements after the writing of my first SAT article. I want to do super well on my October SAT to just get it out of the way, but it’s determined whether I’ve truly learned my weaknesses. Regardless of score, I will be writing about how I felt during test day and my results. Thanks for reading. Also, programming articles will be returning.
